MPL: Artsy August
With get-togethers for extra flair
Welcome back! Or, if you’re new here, welcome~
August has been a hopping month, as you all know, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all. See what’s coming up, and if anything strikes your fancy, sign up or come down for it!

First up, just as a reminder, Billboard Hits Musical BINGO is coming up this Thursday, August 8th at 6:30pm! Students entering 4th-8th grade are invited to come play along, socialize, and color while they rock out! What is musical BINGO? When a song on your card is played, you cross it out, 5 songs in a row wins a small prize. No registration required.

Next up, we know the journey to become a Pokémon master is a long and hard one, but we still have spaces open to get your starter. Join us for a Pokémon Paint Party on August 9th! Come down for 6:30pm and paint your very own Pokémon magnet while you geek out to Pokémon clips and music. Recommended for grades 6th-8th. All supplies provided— register here to claim yours.

Following that, we had two programs where kids could come Paint with Tatyianya, and if you were bummed your kid couldn’t go to the first, we still have space for people in the second! For students entering 5th-8th Grade, join us on Wednesday, August 14th at 3pm to follow along with local artist Tatianya Keating as she teaches them to paint with acrylics! We’ll be doing a different painting than the first program, so if your kid wanted more practice, there’ll be something new for them to do. Not only will they get to paint something, they'll leave with a finished painting of their own. Perfect for beginners and experienced painters, REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Then, on both Thursday August 15th and Thursday, August 22nd, we will be having more Creative Corners! Starting at 4pm each Corner features an art project geared towards children entering 1st-3rd grade. Younger siblings are welcome, but please register them if they will participate in the craft! Registration is required to ensure we have appropriate supplies for each session— click on each date to sign up!

Also on Thursday, August 15th, it’ll once again be time for Board Game Night; the monthly event where you can come down to play your favorite games, learn new games, and meet new board game buddies in the community! Come down— we’ll be starting at 6pm— and see what the monthly game is. We welcome gamers of all levels, so whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced player, join us and feel free to bring in your favorite game to teach as well!
Please register so we get a sense of how many games we will need! Contact Kim at [email protected] or 508-376-8282 with questions.

Pop-up Art School is back with us for another program— this one in person! We’re making Kusudama Flowers on Tuesday, August 20th at 6pm and still have a spots open for anyone interested! Learn how to fold origami and create stunning origami Kusudama flowers out of old book pages with us. Personalize your flowers with a selection of beads and sequins. Bring them to life with a stem that delicately balances the bloom.

Lastly, Color and Chill’s time slot is coming up, and we’d love to have you. Whether you’re a returning friend, or it’s your first time, join us on Friday, August 23rd for new coloring sheets, a selection of coloring supplies, chill music, and snacks to munch on while you work. Coloring has been proven to help reduce stress, so take a break from your busy life (if you’re not out on vacation) before the weekend rush gets to you. Everything you need will be provided, and while we start at 6:30pm, everything but the music and snacks will be out around 4pm if you want to get a head start!
As always, there’s so much more on the calendar that won’t fit in this newsletter. For the full list of programs, check out our events calendar! Until next time~
