Eat your fill~
Welcome back friends! November is more than half gone, and the craziest time of year is coming up. Before we get into what’s going on here, we wanted to update you on a couple things.
First and foremost: our new event calendar is here and active! Whether you want to see what’s going on, or you want to start booking rooms, the power is once more in your hands! Museum pass booking also got a makeover so check it out!
Next up is the Thanksgiving holiday. We’ve been waiting to hear about our hours so we can pass that on to you, and the final verdict is… drum roll noises… we’ll be closing at 1pm on Wednesday, November 27th and will remain closed through Sunday, December 1st. Normal hours will resume on Monday, December 2nd, but be sure to come in and stock up on whatever books, movies, or other entertainment you might need for the very long weekend. Grab your holds and, if you miss us, you can always look at our E-Resources page to check out the resources we have available online from anywhere!

First up on our upcoming events though is this month’s meeting of Board Game Night! Join us tomorrow Thursday, November 21st at 6pm to play your favorite games, learn new games, and meet new board game buddies in the community. We welcome gamers of all levels and will have a selection of games to play! Feel free to bring in your favorite game to teach as well! Meet new friends, face old rivals, and register here if you haven’t already so we get a sense of how many games we will need!
Contact Kim at [email protected] or 508-376-8282 with questions.

Are you ready? Latin Dance Class is returning to the Millis Public Library and it’s almost time to let the music move you! Starting Monday, November 25 at 6pm, join instructor Jaime Staraitis for a series of free salsa dance classes at the Library. This drop in class is free to attend and will be held on December 9th and 23rd as well this year. Come to the sessions you can— build your skills without worrying about coming consecutively. No partner or prior experience necessary!

Next up we’ve got our Writer’s Space. Join us on Tuesday, November 26th and distract yourself from the holiday crunch (or write out the stress— we’re not here to judge) with our group of writers. We’ll be meeting at 7pm, so grab your tools of choice and settle down to work on your plot, get the ideas flowing, share ideas, frustrations, lyrics and triumphs! This month’s prompt to inspire is “Above and Beyond”.

Love books? We assume you do, since you’re reading a library newsletter. We wanted to invite you to join our Clicquot book club! A book club that defies all the usual trappings of the word: welcome to a book group where you don’t even have to read the books before you come! The club’s fearless leader presents a selection of new titles spoiler free and lets you take home the novels of your choice! Our next meeting will be Thursday, December 5th at 2pm. Light refreshments will be provided and no registration is required!

Next, we’ve got a couple heads ups for you: the next Color and Chill will be held on Friday, December 13th at 6:30pm. Take a break before the stress from the holidays gets to you and relax with new coloring sheets, soothing music, and no one asking for anything. We’ll have everything you need set up, and if you need more time, the room will be open around 4:30 with everything but the music and snacks waiting for you. No registration required.

Our second ‘mark your calendar’ notice? The Copley Cats acapella group are returning to us for another holiday concert! Join us for good tidings and great cheer as the award winning group returns to Millis on Saturday, December 14th at 1pm.
The Copley Cats have fun making great music and love sharing it! Known for their tight harmonies and group rapport, their musical repertoire provides something for everyone.
No registration required, but come down early for a good seat!
As always, we’ve got more coming up than can fit in the newsletter, so check out our new event calendar to see what’s coming up! Until next time~
