MPL: Dog days of summer
Crafts, trivia, and movie galore
Welcome back! It’s been a scorcher of a summer so far, so we hope you’ve been enjoying the last few days of relative cool. Hopefully it lasts long enough for everyone to be able to go out and enjoy some spectacular summer weather! Speaking of…

You all know we had to postpone the Flying High Dogs show. We didn’t want anyone— including our furry performers— to get heat stroke during the heat advisory days. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule it for July 30th at 3pm, so you’ll still get to see the all the flips, tricks, and catches from these amazing 4-legged athletes! This All-Ages event will be held outside in the Library courtyard, so feel free to bring chairs and blankets. Come early for a good seat!

We have spots open in a few of our upcoming Creative Corners, and we’d love to have your kids fill them! Join us at 4pm on Thursday, August 1st and/or Thursday, August 8th for a unique craft. Each Corner features an art project geared towards children entering 1st-3rd grade. Younger siblings are welcome, but please register them if they will participate in the craft! Registration is required to ensure we have appropriate supplies for each session— click on each date to sign up!

We also have a few spots open for Tween Ice Cream and Trivia Night— because we wanted trivia with a delicious twist! Come play trivia and make your own ice cream sundae*, fighting the brain freeze to get your answers out! For kids entering 3rd-6th grade, this program will take place on Thursday August 1st at 6:30pm. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
*If your child has food allergies please email youth librarian Rachel at [email protected] and she will make sure to have a treat your child can eat!

The rescheduled Teen Anime Night is finally almost here, and we've been waiting to show the first movie for My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. Join us on Friday, August 2nd at 6pm and get ready for an evening of action and, as always, bring your blankets, friends, and best fandom self and strap in for the ride! No registration required, this program is for grades 6-8. We'll provide the snacks!
Deku visits I-Expo, the world’s leading hero item exhibition! But a sinister plan is set in motion when villains hack the security system.

And if you liked our Taylor Swift BINGO, we've got the thing for you! Instead of keeping it to one artist, this time we'll be playing Billboard Hits Musical BINGO! What is musical BINGO? When a song on your card is played, you cross it out, 5 songs in a row wins a small prize. Students entering 4th-8th grade are invited to come play along, socialize, and color while they rock out on Thursday, August 8th at 6:30pm! No registration required.

Love Pokémon? So do we, so we’re having a Pokémon Paint Party on August 9th! Come down for 6:30pm and paint your very own Pokémon magnet while you geek out to Pokémon clips and music. Recommended for grades 6th-8th. All supplies provided— register here to claim yours.
As always, that’s not everything, but please check out our events calendar to see a full list of upcoming programs!
