New fun, old favorites
Pleasure to ‘see’ all of you again! Our last newsletter was jammed full of goodies, and so many of you happily took us up on them! We’ve got more coming , so hopefully there’s something here that strikes your fancy!

First off: it’s finally time! After our extensive period of technical difficulties, we’re ready to resume Friday Movies! Starting on June 7th, join us almost every Friday at 1pm in the Roche Bros Room for new releases and old classics. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Millis Library.
June 7th: The Holdovers - 2023 (R) 133 minutes
The dramedy tells the story of a disagreeable schoolteacher named Paul Hunham. With no family or friends, Paul ends up staying at school during Christmas break to supervise holdover students who can't travel home for the holidays. Troublemaker Angus and head cook Mary build an unexpected bond with Paul on campus. Together, they go through hilarious adventures, celebrating Christmas in their own unique way.
June 14th: Dune, Part 1 - 2021 (PG-13) 155 minutes
A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.
As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence— a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
June 21st: Dune (Part Two) - 2024 (PG-13) 195 minutes
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family.
Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
June 28th: Arthur the King - 2024 (PG-13) 107 minutes
Over the course of ten days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur.
Based on an incredible true story, ARTHUR THE KING follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes (Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Ali Suliman) for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.

If you missed it, Latin Dance is coming back— starting tomorrow, Wednesday, May 29th! Now that senior projects are over, it's time to get moving! Join instructor Jaime Staraitis at 6pm for the return of her free salsa dance class at the Library!
There's no registration or experience needed, and you don't need to bring a partner— just come and have fun as you learn! The remaining classes for this program run will be on Wednesday, May 29, June 5, and 12!

We’re coming up fast on this one, but we still have a couple spaces open for Sewing bootcamp! Join High School Junior, Harshita Singh on Friday, May 31, at 4pm to learn some sewing basics!
You'll learn three basic stitches (back stitch, cross stitch, and running stitch) to make different designs and create your own pillow to take home!
All materials provided. Open to ages 11 and up (adults welcome!). Space is limited so please register!

You knew Teen Origami was coming, and it’s almost time! Taking place on Friday, May 31st at 6:30pm, this fun art form of folding paper into shapes and animals is great for beginners and experts alike. We'll have plenty of colorful origami paper ready for you, as well as instructions on how to make a variety of shapes.
Recommended for grades 6th-8th, no registration required!

It's slime time! We're switching things up and are offering a different type of slime for all you enthusiasts out there— cloud slime! It's a bit less sticky, and oh-so-fluffy, so join us for Teen Cloud Slime on Friday, June 7th at 6:30pm and have fun creating your own fluffy slime that you can take home!
All supplies provided. Recommended for grades 6th-8th, register here to claim your spot!

We know how much everyone enjoyed making their own tie dye shirts with Teen Tie Dye the last time, so we've brought it back! Join us on Friday, June 15th at 6:30pm and create your own custom designs just in time for the summer! Weather permitting, we'll be outside while we create our shirts, but we won't be letting the weather stop us from having a great time.
Recommended for grades 6th-8th. Register here to claim your shirt, supplies, and spot!
