MPL: Relaxing into the New Year
A fun way to close
Hello friends and welcome back! We’ve got a couple things coming up that might be of interest before the end of the year, so we’ll get right into it!
First up is our Holiday hours. Last time we told you that we’ll be closing at 1pm on Tuesday, December 24th and remain closed through Wednesday, December 25th. Normal hours resume on Thursday, December 26th, making it a short and sweet little holiday.
We will also be closing early on Tuesday, December 31st— this time at 4:30pm for New Years eve and will remain closed on New year’s day, Wednesday, January 1st. Normal hours will once again resume for Thursday, January 2nd, but stop in before either holiday and pick up any books, media, or games you may want. If you happen to miss us (or just want to see the cool stuff we offer), check out our e-resources page!

Its a little last minute, but come one, come all, for the last Board Game Night of the year! Join us this Thursday, December 19th at 6pm for another chance to play your favorite games, learn new games, and meet new board game buddies in the community.
We’ll, as always, have a featured game to play and welcome gamers of all levels. Feel free to bring in your favorite game to teach as well! Please register so we get a sense of how many games we will need—a game for four people isn’t the same as a game for ten. If you have any questions, please contact Kim at [email protected] or 508-376-8282!

Next up for the week before the holiday, we have the last Teen Movie Night of the year: the 90s cult classic “Edward Scissorhands”. Bring your blankets, friends and we'll supply the snacks for this off-beat flick on Friday, December 20th at 6pm. Recommended for grades 6th-8th, no registration required!
A family takes in a young man with scissors for hands. He is the unfinished experiment of a local eccentric who died before completing his creation. Dubbed Edward, he quickly falls in love with the family's oldest daughter, and becomes something of a sensation in the humdrum suburban neighborhood. Soon, however, his inability to fit in causes problems.
Runtime: 100 min

After the holiday, we’d like to invite you to join us for a night of Wizardly trivia on Thursday, December 26th! Starting at 6pm, we’ll be hosting Harry Potter Trivia and welcome muggles of all ages to participate in this event, but we do recommend you have read all the books to be competitive. The winner will receive a $15 gift card to Dunkin Donuts. No registration required.

We also can’t forget about our Taylor Swift Musical BINGO! Taking place on Monday, December 30th at 4pm, rock out and join us for Musical BINGO featuring the songs of Taylor Swift! For students in 4th-8th grade, we'll have small prizes for BINGOs and will raffle off a $15 Dunkin Gift for one lucky winner. No registration is required for this event, so mark your calendars and get ready to shake out the winter blues with friends and the hoppin’ beats~

You know those metal white plates that hold the books in place at the library? Ever wonder why they're so boring? Well that's because we need teens like you (or yours) to brighten them up with your painted creations. That's right Paint Bookends for Middle School is back again on Friday, January 3rd at 6:30pm to continue the spirit of perking up the Teen Room! Leave your legacy in the Teen Room by leaving a mark on our bookends! For kids grades 6-8, no registration required.
As always, we’ve got more coming up than can fit in the newsletter, so check out our new event calendar to see what’s coming up! We hope you have a wonderful holiday and we’ll see you next time!
