MPL: Winter Warmth

Snow Nice to See You

Hello everyone! Welcome back~

We’re midway through February and we hope you’re all keeping safe and warm as winter has its way with our community. Snow and ice aren’t going to stop us from bringing you fun though, so we’re here to present our plans!

February break is well underway, and we’ve got a couple things for your kids to do! Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th at 10am for BINGO for Kids! We’ll be playing for small prizes, but come ready to win. Recommended for kids ages 5-10, all are welcome. No registration required!

Following that, we’ll be running Perler Bead art! Taking place Wednesday, February 19th at 3:15pm, come let your kids express their creativity and craft their own designs! Recommended for kids ages 5-10, all ages welcome. No registration required.

Calling all board game enthusiasts! Join us for our monthly meeting of Board Game Night! Come join us on Thursday, February 21st at 6pm to play your favorite games, learn new games, and meet new board game buddies in the community. We’ll have a different featured game each month, and welcome gamers of all levels. Feel free to bring in your favorite game to teach as well!

Register here so we get a sense of how many/what kind of games we will need!

We also hope you’re ready for a blast from the past and another Teen Movie Night! Bring your blankets and friends and we'll provide the entertainment and snacks! This time we’ll be watching “Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen” on Friday, February 21st at 6pm!

After moving from New York City to suburban New Jersey, a teen tries to regain her popularity by nabbing the lead in the school play.

For Grades 6-8, no registration required.

Also, just a reminder (pun intended), the next meeting of the Millis Memory Cafe will be Monday, February 24th at 10:30am. A memory café is a welcoming place for individuals and families living with memory changes. Each café event will feature a guest artist or performer, time for conversation, as well as coffee and refreshments.

No registration required. Contact Kim at [email protected] or visit millislibrary.org/memorycafe for more information.

Then join us for our monthly gathering of writers in Writer’s space! Share ideas, frustrations, lyrics and triumphs on Tuesday, February 25th at 7pm with us. Free write or finish your masterpiece. We don't even care if you doodle nonsense. We just want to see you put pen/pencil/stylus/keyboard to page/paper/screen/program and have some light refreshments.

Each month we will discuss or (not discuss) a prompt given the month before. This month's discussion prompt is : "I went walking...    "

No registration required.

It’s also time for another night where we Color and Chill! Join us on Friday, February 28th for another night with soothing music, fun coloring sheets, and everything you need to relax! We’ll be in the Local History Room this time, but a cozier space won’t stop us! As always, while the program officially starts at 6:30pm when the music and snacks come out, the room will be set up around 4pm if you want more time with your sheet. We’ll have all the supplies you need, but feel free to bring your own if you have a special project you’re working on!

No registration required.

There’s nothing quite like pop art, and we’re here to invite you to join us for the most meta of programs. We’re having an Emoji Paint Night on Friday, March 7th at 6:30pm and are here to invite you to join us! If you’re in grades 6-8, come down and paint a canvas with your favorite emoji(s).

All supplies will be provided. Register here to grab yours!

As always, there’s so much more going on than we can put in out newsletter. If you want to see it all, check out our event calendar!
